It does not list brand names or logos of payment providers; the payment options available for your order are always shown at checkout before you pay. If you have a question about a payment, email support@threadwell.shop.
\n
\n
Paying, in a few lines
\n
\n
Currency: all prices are in US dollars (USD).
\n
Payment options: the options available for your order are shown at checkout, before you confirm anything.
\n
Shipping: free to the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, so the price you see is the price of your pieces.
\n
Sales tax: not collected by Thread Well at checkout.
\n
Refunds: issued within 7 days of receiving your return, to your original payment method or as store credit that never expires.
\n
Security: the whole site uses an encrypted HTTPS connection; we never ask for card details by email.
\n
\n
\n
1. Where you see your payment options
\n
When you reach the checkout page, after entering your contact details and delivery address, the payment section shows the options available for your order. You choose one there, review the order summary and only then confirm. Nothing is charged before you confirm the order.
\n
We keep this page free of payment brand names and logos on purpose: we only describe a payment option once it is live and tested at our checkout. If you would like to know before you order whether a particular way of paying is available, email us and we will tell you plainly.
\n
We do not take payment by email, by message, in cash or by bank transfer outside the checkout, and we will never send you a payment link you did not ask for.
\n
2. Prices, currency and what the total includes
\n
Every price on threadwell.shop is in US dollars. The price shown on a product page is the price for the option you have selected: some sizes (2XL and 3XL), Style options (Crewneck or Hoodie instead of Tee) and Placement options (Full Chest instead of Left Chest) cost a little more, and the price updates as soon as you choose them. The cart and checkout show the total for every piece, with free shipping.
\n
\n
What makes up your checkout total
\n
\n
\n
Line on your order
\n
What it means
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
Item prices
\n
The price of each piece for the size and options you selected, in USD
\n
\n
\n
Shipping
\n
Free to the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, no minimum
\n
\n
\n
Sales tax
\n
Not collected by Thread Well at checkout
\n
\n
\n
Personalisation
\n
Included in the price; letters, names and dates written in Order notes cost nothing extra
\n
\n
\n
Total
\n
The amount charged when you confirm your order
\n
\n
\n
\n
If you pay with a card or account in another currency, such as Canadian, Australian or New Zealand dollars, your bank or payment provider converts the US dollar amount. The exchange rate and any foreign transaction fee are set by your provider, not by us, so the amount on your statement may differ slightly from the USD total.
\n
3. A walk through checkout, step by step
\n
\n
Cart. Check each piece: design, size, garment colour, and any Style, Placement or Thread Color option. The price shown for each line already reflects those options.
\n
Contact and delivery. Enter your email, then the delivery address. Only addresses in the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand can be completed; free shipping appears automatically.
\n
Order notes. Type your letters, names, dates and thread colour (where the piece has no thread option) in the Order notes box, exactly as they should be stitched.
\n
Payment. Choose one of the payment options shown and enter the details it asks for.
\n
Review and confirm. Read the summary one last time, including your Order notes, then place the order. You receive a confirmation email with the total charged.
\n
\n
If you close the page before confirming, no order is created and nothing is charged. Your cart usually stays in your browser for a while, so you can come back to it.
\n
4. When a price looks wrong
\n
We take care to show the right price for every option. If a price on the site is ever clearly wrong, for example a hoodie shown at a tee price because of a setup error, we will contact you before preparing your order and give you the choice of paying the correct price or cancelling for a full refund. We will not charge you more than the amount you confirmed without your agreement.
\n
5. When you are charged
\n
Your payment is taken when you place your order. That is because every piece is embroidered to your selection and Order notes, and preparation starts within our 1-3 business day window. You receive an order confirmation email straight away showing the amount and the Order notes we received.
\n
If you cancel within 24 hours, or if we cancel any part of your order, the relevant amount is refunded in full. See Cancel or Change an Order for how cancellations work.
\n
6. Keeping your payment safe
\n
The whole of threadwell.shop is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection, shown by the padlock in your browser’s address bar. Payment details you enter at checkout are handled through the payment option you choose and are not kept in your Thread Well order. Your bank or provider may ask you to confirm a payment with a code or in its app; that step comes from them, not from us, and helps protect you.
\n
We will never ask you for a card number, security code, password or one-time code by email, message or phone. If you receive a message like that claiming to be from Thread Well, do not reply; forward it to support@threadwell.shop so we know about it.
\n
7. If a payment does not go through
\n
A payment can be declined for many reasons that have nothing to do with you or with us: a billing address that does not match the one your bank holds, an expired card, a spending limit, or an automatic security check on a purchase from a new website. If checkout shows an error:
\n
\n
Check that your billing details, including postal code, match your bank’s records exactly.
\n
Try again once; avoid pressing the order button several times in a row.
\n
If it fails again, contact your bank or provider, or try a different payment option shown at checkout.
\n
If you are still stuck, email us. We cannot see or process your payment details, but we can check whether an order was created and help you complete it.
\n
\n
If you see the same order charged twice, email us with the order number and both charge references. We will check the order and refund any duplicate charge.
\n
8. Order checks
\n
To protect customers from fraud, we may occasionally contact you to confirm an order before we start embroidering it, for example when the billing and delivery details look unusual. If we cannot confirm the order, we cancel it and refund it in full. These checks are rare and never involve asking for your full payment details.
\n
9. Sales tax, duties and other charges
\n
Thread Well does not collect sales tax at checkout, and no tax line is added to your order. Parcels to Canada, Australia and New Zealand ship from the USA and cross a border; whether any import duty or tax applies depends on the destination country’s rules, and duties and taxes depend on the destination country. If you have a question about this for your country, contact us before you order. Our Shipping & Delivery page has more about delivery to each country.
\n
10. Store credit and discount codes
\n
If you have store credit from an earlier return, it never expires. To use it, mention it in your Order notes or email us before you order, and we will apply it and confirm your remaining balance. We do not currently run public discount codes; if a promotion is ever offered, its terms will be shown with it, and our Terms of Service explain how promotions work.
\n
11. Gift orders and paying for someone else
\n
You can pay for an order that is delivered to someone else, such as a mama crewneck sent straight to your sister in Toronto. Enter your own details as the billing address and theirs as the delivery address. Our packing slips do not show prices. If a refund is ever needed on a gift order, it goes back to the person who paid, unless they ask us to issue store credit to the recipient.
\n
For a group order paid by one person, such as a book club or grade team ordering together, the full amount is charged to the person who places the order. We cannot split one order across several payments, so groups usually settle up among themselves, or each member places their own order.
\n
12. How refunds come back to you
\n
Refunds are issued within 7 days of receiving your return, to the payment method you used, or as store credit if you prefer. Once we issue a refund, your bank or provider still needs to show it on your statement, and how long that takes depends on them. Full details are on our Refund Policy page.
\n
13. Your payment and your privacy
\n
We use your billing details only to process your order, prevent fraud and meet our legal obligations. We do not sell your information. Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect and how long we keep it.
\n
14. Common payment questions
\n
Does personalisation cost extra?
\n
No. Writing letters, a name, a date or a thread colour in the Order notes box is included in the price of the piece. Only the product options shown on the page, such as larger sizes, a Crewneck or Hoodie Style, or a Full Chest Placement, change the price, and you see that change before you add the piece to your cart.
\n
Will my receipt show the personalisation?
\n
Your order confirmation email shows each piece with its options and repeats your Order notes, so it doubles as a record of exactly what you asked us to stitch. Keep it until your order arrives.
\n
Can I pay later or in instalments?
\n
Only if such an option is shown at checkout for your order. We do not arrange payment plans by email.
\n
Can I add a piece to an order I have already paid for?
\n
Within 24 hours, email us and we will tell you how; usually the simplest way is a second order, which we can pack together with the first where timing allows.
\n
Why is the amount on my statement slightly different?
\n
Our prices are in US dollars. If your card or account is in another currency, your provider converts the amount on the day it processes the payment and may add its own fee. The order total in your confirmation email, in USD, is the amount Thread Well charged.
\n
15. Questions about paying
\n
Email support@threadwell.shop with your order number if you have one, and we reply within 24 hours on business days.
